In Thursday's league game, the host South Johnston Trojans baseball team scored a tight 8-3 victory over the Southern Wayne Saints.
The Trojans (9-7) will now prepare for their game against Hunt (Wilson, NC). The Warriors go into the Quad County 3A game with a 10-5 record. In their last game, Hunt tipped East Wake (Wendell, NC), 10-1, in a league game.
The Saints (8-8) will now prepare for their game against Smithfield-Selma (Smithfield, NC). The Spartans go into the Quad County 3A game with a 2-14 record. In their last game, Smithfield-Selma was overwhelmed by West Johnston (Benson, NC), 13-1, in a league game.
