Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 18-4 in a league challenge.

The Jaguars now own a 3-13 record. They take the field next when they host Belen for a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Valencia will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 13-8.

With the loss, Highland falls to 0-18 on the campaign. The Hornets host St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Sartans in a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Sartans enter the challenge with a record of 11-5. St. Pius X lost 13-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Sandia (Albuquerque, NM)
