Bastrop Bears (Bastrop, TX) supporters left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Anderson Trojans (Austin, TX), 17-2 in a league game.

With the triumph, Bastrop improves its record to 16-6 on the year. The Bears travel to McCallum (Austin, TX) to play the Knights in a 5A Region III District 24 game on Tuesday, April 15. The Knights enter the game with a record of 9-8.

The Trojans now hold a 8-11 record. They play next when they host Navarro for a 5A Region III District 24 game on Tuesday, April 15. Anderson will play a Vikings squad coming off a 19-5 league loss to Crockett (Austin, TX). The Vikings record now stands at 3-11.
