The Bowie Pirates (Simms, TX) softball routed the visiting McLeod Longhorns (McLeod, TX), 11-1 in Friday's league outing.

The Pirates now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Detroit for a 2A Region III District 17 outing on Tuesday, April 15. Bowie will encounter a Eagles team coming off a 8-5 non-league loss to Maud (Maud, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 15-4.

With the loss, McLeod moves to 9-10 on the season. The Longhorns travel to Harts Bluff (Mt. Pleasant, TX) to encounter the Bulldogs in a 2A Region III District 17 outing on Tuesday, April 15. The Bulldogs come into the outing with a record of 3-11.
