The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) and the visiting Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX), observed Henderson's softball team get by Gilmer by a tally of 5-3.

The Lions (20-6) will now prepare for their bout against Kilgore (Kilgore, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 4A Region II District 16 bout with a 5-17 record. In their last bout, Kilgore by Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 13-3, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Buckeyes clash with the Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 bout, on Tuesday, April 15. Gilmer will attempt to advance on its 18-4 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 9-16 record after their 12-6 league loss to Carthage (Carthage, TX).
