North Carolina High School Softball - Gray's Creek gets by Lumberton

April 12, 2022: Lumberton, NC 28358

The Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) softball nipped the host Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC), 4-3 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Bears (15-2) will now prepare for their bout against South View (Hope Mills, NC). The Tigers go into the United Eight 3A/4A bout with a 9-7 record. In their last bout, South View was edged by Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC), 8-1, in a league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to East Columbus for a non-league bout on Saturday, April 16. Lumberton will confront a Gators squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Pender (Burgaw, NC). The Gators record now stands at 13-2.
