South Salem Saxons (Salem, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McNary Celtics (Keizer, OR), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Saxons now own a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host North Salem for a 6A Central Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 16. South Salem will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Century (Hillsboro, OR). The Vikings record now stands at 0-13.

With the loss, McNary falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Celtics travel to Sprague (Salem, OR) to battle the Olympians in a 6A Central Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Olympians enter the challenge with a record of 6-9. Sprague lost 3-1 in their recent league challenge against West Salem (Salem, OR)
