Woodland Regional Hawks (Beacon Falls, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Ansonia Chargers (Ansonia, CT), 19-0 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host Pomperaug for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Woodland Regional will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Bristol Central (Bristol, CT). The Panthers record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Ansonia falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Chargers host Waterbury Career Academy (Waterbury, CT) to battle the Spartans in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Friday, April 14. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Waterbury Career Academy won 18-3 in their recent league challenge against Crosby (Waterbury, CT)
