Winfield Pirates (Winfield, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Lamar Stallions (Millport, AL), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Pirates now sport a 27-3 record. They take the field next when they host Sulligent for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. Winfield will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 10-4 non-league win over Gordo (Gordo, AL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 25-9.
With the loss, South Lamar falls to 6-16 on the campaign. The Stallions travel to Fayette County (Fayette, AL) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 13-12.
