Batavia Bulldogs (Batavia, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wheaton North Falcons (Wheaton, IL), 17-16 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they host Glenbard East for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 16. Batavia will battle a Rams squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Aurora East (Aurora, IL). The Rams record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Wheaton North falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to St. Charles North (St. Charles, IL) to battle the North Stars in a DuKane challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The North Stars enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. St. Charles North lost 11-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Naperville Central (Naperville, IL)
