The Eastwood Troopers (El Paso, TX) softball routed the host Socorro Bulldogs (El Paso, TX), 7-2 in Thursday's league bout.

The Troopers (29-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Coronado (El Paso, TX). The Thunderbirds enter the 6A Region I District 1 challenge with a 7-23 record. In their last challenge, Coronado got by Franklin (El Paso, TX), 10-9, in a league challenge.

With the loss, Socorro falls to 20-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Eastlake (El Paso, TX) to face the Falcons in a 6A Region I District 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 8-15. Eastlake won 12-10 in their recent league challenge against Montwood (El Paso, TX)
