Artesia Bulldogs (Artesia, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lovington Wildcats (Lovington, NM), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they host Portales for a 4A District 4 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Artesia will battle a Rams squad coming off a 17-4 league loss to Goddard (Roswell, NM). The Rams record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Lovington falls to 13-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Goddard (Roswell, NM) to battle the Rockets in a 4A District 4 challenge on Wednesday, April 19. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 7-13. Goddard won 17-4 in their recent league challenge against Portales (Portales, NM)
