The Patton Panthers softball team scored 4 runs and limited the visiting Freedom Patriots to 3 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Patton moves its record to 8-8 on the year. The Panthers travel to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to clash with the Cavaliers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A game on Tuesday, April 18. The Cavaliers come into the game with a record of 9-6. East Rutherford lost 3-2 in their recent non-league game against Chesnee (Chesnee, SC)

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A game, on Tuesday, April 18. Freedom will attempt to move on its 4-12 season record. The Spartans come into the game with a 10-3 record after their 6-3 non-league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC).
