The Manzano Monarchs got by the host Santa Fe Demons softball squad by a final score of 9-8 in Saturday's league battle.

The Monarchs (10-12) will now prepare for their battle against Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM). The Demons go into the 5A District 5 battle with a 4-12 record. In their last battle, Santa Fe was edged by St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM), 10-3, in a non-league battle.
