In Tuesday's non-league bout, the Betsy Layne Bobcats (Betsy Layne, KY) baseball squad overwhelmed the visiting Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY), by a score of 14-4.
Next up, the Bobcats encounter the Floyd Central Jaguars (Eastern, KY) in a District 58 bout, on Thursday, April 17. Betsy Layne will attempt to advance on its 4-11 season record.
The Hornets (2-7) will now prepare for their bout against Martin County (Inez, KY). The Cardinals enter the non-league bout with a 7-6 record. In their last bout, Martin County was overwhelmed by Paintsville (Paintsville, KY), 18-3, in a league bout.
