Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 11-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host East Wilkes for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. Ashe County will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 8-4 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Hibriten falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to face the Pioneers in a non-league test on Friday, April 19. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 2-5. Watauga lost 8-1 in their recent non-league test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
