Chestnut Ridge Lions (New Paris, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bedford Bisons (Bedford, PA), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Philipsburg-Osceola for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Chestnut Ridge will battle a Mountaineers squad coming off a 6-2 league loss to Clearfield (Clearfield, PA). The Mountaineers record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Bedford falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Bisons travel to Huntingdon (Huntingdon, PA) to battle the Bearcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Huntingdon lost 9-6 in their recent league challenge against Tyrone (Tyrone, PA)
