Southwest EC Eagles (El Centro, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets (Blythe, CA), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host Central for a Desert challenge on Friday, April 19. Southwest EC will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 9-0 league win over Calipatria (Calipatria, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Palo Verde Valley falls to 7-11 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets host Calipatria (Calipatria, CA) to battle the Hornets in a Desert challenge on Friday, April 19. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. Calipatria lost 9-0 in their recent league challenge against Central (El Centro, CA)
