The George Wythe Maroons softball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Grayson County Blue Devils to 0 in the Maroons league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, George Wythe improves its record to 7-0 on the year. The Maroons host Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to clash with the Spartans in a Mountain Empire game on Friday, April 19. The Spartans come into the game with a record of 4-6. Giles lost 7-0 in their recent league game against Auburn (Riner, VA)

In their next game, the Blue Devils clash with the Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) in a Mountain Empire contest, on Monday, April 22. Grayson County will attempt to move on its 2-9 season record. The Pioneers come into the contest with a 4-6 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Lebanon (Lebanon, VA).
