The George Wythe Maroons softball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils to 5 in the Maroons league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, George Wythe improves its record to 10-1 on the year. The Maroons travel to Auburn (Riner, VA) to clash with the Eagles in a Mountain Empire game on Wednesday, May 1. The Eagles come into the game with a record of 8-6. Auburn lost 1-0 in their recent non-league game against Abingdon (Abingdon, VA)

In their next game, the Blue Devils clash with the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) in a Mountain Empire game, on Friday, May 3. Grayson County will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Maroon Tide come into the game with a 5-10 record after their 13-2 league loss to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA).
