Arkansas High School Softball - Hoxie topped by Newport

In Wednesday's league contest, the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR), by a margin of 10-0.

With the triumph, Newport moves its record to 5-14 on the year. The Greyhounds host Mountain View (Mountain View, AR) to play the Yellowjackets in a 3A Region 2 contest on Friday, April 19. The Yellowjackets come into the contest with a record of 10-9. Mountain View won 15-3 in their recent non-league contest against Cedar Ridge (Newark, AR)

In their next game, the Mustangs play the Tuckerman Bulldogs (Tuckerman, AR) in a 3A Region 2 contest, on Thursday, April 18. Hoxie will attempt to move on its 1-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 14-9 record after their 2-0 league win over Mountain View (Mountain View, AR).
