The Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) softball routed the host Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR), 12-2 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Greyhounds (3-9) will now prepare for their bout against Melbourne (Melbourne, AR). The Bearkatz go into the 3A Region 2 bout with a 15-3 record. In their last bout, Melbourne toppled Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR), 19-2, in a league bout.

The Mustangs now possess a 1-8 record. They play next when they host Mountain View for a 3A Region 2 bout on Thursday, April 4. Hoxie will confront a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 11-4 league win over Cave City (Cave City, AR). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 6-4.
