Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) followers left the game satisfied Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY), 15-1 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Russell County moves its record to 13-5 on the season. The Lakers travel to Metcalfe County (Edmonton, KY) to confront the Hornets in a District 16 match on Friday, April 18. The Hornets come into the match with a record of 4-6. Metcalfe County lost 15-0 in their recent league match against Cumberland County (Burkesville, KY)

The Briar Jumpers now possess a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Boyle County for a non-league match on Friday, April 18. Somerset will confront a Rebels squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Danville (Danville, KY). The Rebels record now stands at 8-7.
