North Carolina High School Baseball - St. Stephens sneaks past McDowell

April 17, 2026: Hickory, NC 28601

The crowd at Friday's league battle between the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) and the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), saw St. Stephens's baseball team get by McDowell by a tally of 3-2.

The Indians (15-5) will now prepare for their battle against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans enter the Northwestern 6A/7A battle with a 16-4 record. In their last battle, South Caldwell held off Freedom (Morganton, NC), 13-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Titans face the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a Northwestern 6A/7A battle, on Tuesday, April 21. McDowell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Pioneers enter the battle with a 13-8 record after their 14-2 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
