La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX), 8-0 in a league challenge.

The Coyotes now own a 24-5 record. They take the field next when they host Mission for a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, April 21. La Joya will face a Eagles squad coming off a 19-1 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (San Juan, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, Economedes falls to 5-18 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to face the Cougars in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, April 21. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 9-21. Edinburg North lost 10-7 in their recent league challenge against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)
