Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 11-8 record. They take the field next when they host Bloomfield for a 4A District 1 challenge on Thursday, April 21. Aztec will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 18-3 league win over Shiprock (Shiprock, NM). The Bobcats record now stands at 9-12.

With the loss, Miyamura falls to 9-12 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Gallup (Gallup, NM) to battle the Bengals in a 4A District 1 challenge on Thursday, April 21. The Bengals enter the challenge with a record of 14-7. Gallup won 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM)
