The George C. Marshall Statesmen baseball team scored 7 runs and limited the visiting Herndon Hornets to 6 in the Statesmen league victory on Wednesday.
The Statesmen (9-8) will now prepare for their match against Wakefield (Arlington, VA). The Warriors go into the Liberty match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Wakefield tipped Herndon (Herndon, VA), 9-5, in a league match.
The Hornets (7-7) will now prepare for their match against Centreville (Clifton, VA). The Wildcats go into the non-league match with a 8-6 record. In their last match, Centreville was edged by South Lakes (Reston, VA), 6-2, in a league match.
