El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA), 16-4 in a league challenge.

The Vaqueros now own a 17-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Santana for a challenge on Friday, April 21. El Capitan will battle a Sultans squad coming off a 12-1 non-league win over University City (San Diego, CA). The Sultans record now stands at 13-2.

With the loss, Steele Canyon falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA) to battle the Eagles in a challenge on Friday, April 21. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Granite Hills lost 4-1 in their recent league challenge against Helix (La Mesa, CA)
