Spectators at Friday's league match between the El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) and the visiting Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA), witnessed El Capitan's softball squad prevail over Steele Canyon by a count of 15-2.

The Vaqueros now sport a 22-3 record. They play next when they travel to Helix for a match on Saturday, May 6. El Capitan will meet a Highlanders squad coming off a 14-5 league win over Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA). The Highlanders record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Steele Canyon moves to 6-11 on the season. The Cougars travel to Santana (Santee, CA) to meet the Sultans in a match on Monday, May 8. The Sultans go into the match with a record of 19-2. Santana won 11-1 in their recent league match against Helix (La Mesa, CA)
