In Wednesday's league contest, the West Greene Pioneers (Waynesburg, PA) softball team overwhelmed the host Avella Eagles (Avella, PA), by a margin of 21-1.

With the triumph, West Greene moves its record to 7-5 on the year. The Pioneers host Mapletown (Greensboro, PA) to play the Maples in a WPIAL 1A 2 contest on Monday, April 24. The Maples come into the contest with a record of 4-4.

In their next game, the Eagles play the Mapletown Maples (Greensboro, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 contest, on Friday, April 21. Avella will attempt to move on its 1-8 season record. The Maples come into the contest with a 4-4 record after their 15-0 league loss to Chartiers-Houston (Houston, PA).
