The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) and the visiting William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), observed Staunton River's softball team notch a victory over William Byrd by a tally of 12-0.

The Golden Eagles (11-0) will now prepare for their bout against Fleming (Roanoke, VA). The Colonels go into the Blue Ridge bout with a 1-14 record. In their last bout, Fleming was routed by Glass (Lynchburg, VA), 14-2, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Terriers battle the Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 22. William Byrd will attempt to advance on its 9-6 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 9-6 league win over Pulaski County (Dublin, VA).
