West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), 19-2 in a league challenge.

The Blackhawks now own a 13-0 record. They take the field next when they host East Surry for a Foothills 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 23. West Wilkes will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Surry Central falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Golden eagles host North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to battle the Greyhounds in a Foothills 2A challenge on Monday, April 22. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a record of 5-11. North Surry lost 12-1 in their recent league challenge against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
