The Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds triumphed over the visiting Holmes Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 15-0 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Thoroughbreds meet the Newport Wildcats (Newport, KY) in a District 36 challenge, on Friday, April 4. Newport Central Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 23-4 non-league loss to St. Henry (Erlanger, KY).

The Bulldogs (1-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Holy Cross (Covington, KY). The Indians enter the District 35 challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, Holy Cross overcame Calvary Christian (Covington, KY), 17-2, in a non-league challenge.
