The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds (Newport, KY) and the host Holmes Bulldogs (Covington, KY), observed Newport Central Catholic's softball team prevail over Holmes by a tally of 15-5.

The Thoroughbreds (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against St. Henry (Erlanger, KY). The Crusaders go into the non-league bout with a 3-10 record. In their last bout, St. Henry was routed by Beechwood (Fort Mitchell, KY), 25-8, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Williamstown Demons (Williamstown, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, May 8. Holmes will attempt to advance on its 6-8 season record. The Demons go into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 21-1 non-league win over Newport (Newport, KY).
