Salisbury Hornets (Salisbury, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lexington Yellowjackets (Lexington, NC), 16-4 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they host South Davidson for a Central Carolina 1A/2A challenge on Monday, April 24. Salisbury will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 14-0 league loss to East Davidson (Thomasville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Lexington falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to North Rowan (Spencer, NC) to battle the Cavaliers in a Central Carolina 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a record of 4-5. North Rowan lost 19-1 in their recent league challenge against West Davidson (Lexington, NC)
