West Genesee Wildcats (Camillus, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets (Manlius, NY), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Christian Brothers Academy for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. West Genesee will battle a Brothers squad coming off a 17-11 non-league win over East Syracuse-Minoa (East Syracuse, NY). The Brothers record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Fayetteville-Manlius falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Cicero-North Syracuse (Cicero, NY) to face the Northstars in a Section 3 Metro match on Thursday, April 25. The Northstars go into the match with a record of 2-4. Cicero-North Syracuse lost 8-1 in their recent league match against Liverpool (Liverpool, NY)
