The West Genesee Wildcats softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets to 7 in the Wildcats league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, West Genesee moves its record to 8-8 on the year. The Wildcats host Rome Free Academy (Rome, NY) to play the Black Knights in a non-league game on Monday, May 13. The Black Knights come into the game with a record of 10-5. Rome Free Academy won 11-1 in their recent league game against Proctor (Utica, NY)

In their next game, the Hornets play the East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans (East Syracuse, NY) in a non-league game, on Saturday, May 11. Fayetteville-Manlius will attempt to move on its 4-12 season record. The Spartans come into the game with a 8-8 record after their 7-5 league loss to Central Square (Central Square, NY).
