Magnolia Science Academy Reseda Warriors (Reseda, CA) followers left the game satisfied Wednesday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars (Lake Balboa, CA), 3-0 in a league test.

Match Summary
In set 1 Lake Balboa jumped out quickly at 4-0 but started to slide at 6-4 before MSA Reseda 1 opened up an 8-6 lead. The teams battled to 10-9 MSAR. The Warriors gapped the Cougars at 14-9 then traded points 11-10 to take the win. Set 2 continued very evenly at 10 all before the Cougars pounced ahead 16-10 behind the tough serve of Libero Jarrel Quinones. Mag Sci Reseda nibbled at the lead until it was 20 all. This was the pivotal moment of the match with the Warriors taking 5 of the next 7 points at crunch time. A dispirited LBCP team started flat & found themselves quickly down 0-4 to start set 3. The Cougars did rally closing to 9-11. Again the better hitting Warriors stormed ahead 16-9. Once again Magnolia Science Academy Reseda only had to play sideout ball 9-13 down the stretch to sweep in 3. Lake Balboa did not go quietly into that good night fending off 4 MSAR1 match point attempts before the final whistle.
