Mesa Verde Mavericks (Citrus Heights, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mira Loma Matadors (Sacramento, CA), 22-12 in a league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rio Linda for a Golden Empire League challenge on Wednesday, April 26. Mesa Verde will battle a Knights squad coming off a 7-4 league loss to Pioneer (Woodland, CA). The Knights record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Mira Loma falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Matadors host Casa Roble (Orangevale, CA) to battle the Rams in a Golden Empire League challenge on Wednesday, April 26. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 6-8. Casa Roble lost 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Inderkum (Sacramento, CA)
