The Floyd County Buffaloes softball team scored 7 runs and limited the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils to 0 in the Buffaloes non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Floyd County moves its record to 7-5 on the year. The Buffaloes host Carroll County (Hillsville, VA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a Three Rivers game on Thursday, April 25. The Cavaliers come into the game with a record of 12-1. Carroll County won 6-4 in their recent league game against Alleghany (Covington, VA)

In their next game, the Blue Devils clash with the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) in a Mountain Empire game, on Thursday, April 25. Grayson County will attempt to advance on its 2-10 season record. The Eagles go into the battle with a 7-5 record after their 7-4 league loss to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA).
