Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Liberty Mountaineers (Clarksburg, WV), 17-1 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 8-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Doddridge County for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 24. Lincoln will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 17-0 non-league win over Liberty (Clarksburg, WV). The Bulldogs record now stands at 19-7.

With the loss, Liberty falls to 1-13 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to North Marion (Farmington, WV) to battle the Huskies in a Big Ten challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 13-12. North Marion lost 4-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Robert C. Byrd (Clarksburg, WV)
