Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV), 17-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bluefield for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 26. Midland Trail will face a Beavers squad coming off a 21-0 non-league win over Summers County (Hinton, WV). The Beavers record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, PikeView falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Greenbrier West (Charmco, WV) to face the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a record of 15-7. Greenbrier West won 10-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV)
