The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC) and the host Sugar Creek Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), saw Piedmont Community Charter's softball squad nip Sugar Creek by a count of 7-0.

The Patriots now sport a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gaston Christian for a non-league match on Thursday, April 25. Piedmont Community Charter will face a Eagles squad coming off a 4-0 league win over Concord Academy (Concord, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Sugar Creek falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC) to face the Stallions in a Metro Eight 1A match on Friday, April 26. The Stallions enter the match with a record of 15-3. Queen's Grant won 22-14 in their recent non-league match against Langtree Charter (Mooresville, NC)
