The Wheeler Lions softball team scored 14 runs and limited the visiting Putnam Clippers to 1 in the Lions non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Wheeler improves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Lions travel to Griswold (Griswold, CT) to clash with the Wolverines in a Eastern Connecticut - Small game on Friday, April 26. The Wolverines come into the game with a record of 8-2. Griswold won 9-5 in their recent league game against Plainfield (Central Village, CT)

In their next game, the Clippers clash with the Montville Wolves (Oakdale, CT) in a non-league game, on Friday, April 26. Putnam will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Wolves come into the game with a 6-4 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to St. Bernard (Uncasville, CT).
