The Gallup Bengals softball team scored 6 runs and held the host Shiprock Chieftains to 1 in the Bengals league win on Thursday.

The Bengals now possess a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Miyamura for a 4A District 1 battle on Thursday, May 1. Gallup will confront a Patriots team coming off a 16-5 league win over Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM). The Patriots record now stands at 11-9.

With the loss, Shiprock moves to 6-15 on the season. The Chieftains travel to Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM) to confront the Spartans in a non-league battle on Saturday, April 26. The Spartans come into the battle with a record of 12-10. Bernalillo won 24-1 in their recent league battle against Del Norte (Albuquerque, NM)
