The Shady Spring Tigers triumphed over the host Independence Patriots softball squad by a count of 11-6 in Thursday's league challenge.
Next, the Tigers meet the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles (Beckley, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 28. Shady Spring will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Flying Eagles enter the challenge with a 11-10 record after their 13-10 non-league loss to Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV).
The Patriots (15-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Mingo Central (Matewan, WV). The Miners enter the non-league challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, Mingo Central edged Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV), 8-4, in a non-league challenge.
