Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Calais Blue Devils (Calais, ME), 17-9 in a league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Sumner for a Class C North challenge on Wednesday, April 27. Washington Academy will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Narraguagus (Harrington, ME). The Tigers record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Calais falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Narraguagus (Harrington, ME) to battle the Knights in a Class C North challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Narraguagus lost 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Sumner (East Sullivan, ME)
