Maine High School Softball - Washington Academy nudges Calais

Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Calais Blue Devils (Calais, ME), 9-8 in a league challenge.
The Raiders now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they host Bucksport for a Class C North challenge on Friday, May 27. Washington Academy will battle a Golden Bucks squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Dexter (Dexter, ME). The Golden Bucks record now stands at 13-1.
With the loss, Calais falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Houlton (Houlton, ME) to battle the Shiretowners in a Class C North challenge on Wednesday, June 1. The Shiretowners enter the challenge with a record of 5-1.
