The Smithfield Packers routed the visiting Tabb Tigers softball squad by a final score of 8-2 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Packers (9-3) will now prepare for their battle against New Kent (New Kent, VA). The Trojans go into the Bay Rivers battle with a 10-3 record. In their last battle, New Kent held off York (Yorktown, VA), 4-2, in a league challenge.

With the loss, Tabb falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA) to battle the Rams in a Bay Rivers challenge on Friday, April 28. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 1-12. Lafayette lost 6-4 in their recent league challenge against Bruton (Williamsburg, VA)
