Bernards Mountaineers (Bernardsville, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting The Pingry School Big Blue (Martinsville, NJ), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Mountaineers now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Hunterdon for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. Bernards will battle a Lions squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Westfield (Westfield, NJ). The Lions record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, The Pingry School falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Big blue host Phillipsburg (Phillipsburg, NJ) to battle the Stateliners in a Skyland - Raritan challenge on Saturday, April 27. The Stateliners enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Phillipsburg lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Ridge (Basking Ridge, NJ)
